E-Baraka (Pan-African Institute for Development) is an African diaspora initiative and NGO, guided by the Pan-African vision of the African Union: “an integrated, prosperous, and peaceful Africa, driven by its own citizens, representing a dynamic force in the international arena.”
E-Baraka focuses on Francophone sub-Saharan Africa, an absent player in international cooperation. With a population of more than 400 million+ people, the region sees significantly lower funding compared to the anglophone countries. Between 2021 and 2022, it secured only 5.2% of the total amount raised by African start-ups. According to industry studies, the reasons invoked are a limited culture of cooperation, a lack of exchange platforms such as forums and networks, an absence of a shared vision and coordination mechanisms, the language barrier (French), and the political instability of the regions.
E-Baraka acts as a bridge between northern and southern governments, public institutions, the private sector, and civil society. Through agriculture, waste management, education, and cultural inclusion programs, we aim to leverage circular economy as a driver of development.
We believe development must preserve our planet, reduce inequalities, and uphold human rights. We are convinced that engaging youth in our initiatives will reduce political instability and build lasting peace. With cooperation at the core of our mission, we recognize that strong partnerships and friendships between states are the foundation for a better society.
