E-Baraka Austria

E-Baraka (Pan-African Institute for Development) is an African diaspora initiative and NGO, guided by the Pan-African vision of the African Union: “an integrated, prosperous, and peaceful Africa, driven by its own citizens, representing a dynamic force in the international arena.”
As a home to more than 400 million people, the francophone sub-Saharan area experiences lower funding within Africa compared to the anglophone states. Between 2021 and 2022, the region reportedly raised 5.2% of the total amount raised by African start-ups. According to industry studies, the reasons invoked are a limited culture of cooperation, a lack of exchange platforms such as forums and networks, an absence of a shared vision and coordination mechanisms, the language barrier (French), and the political instability of the regions.
Politically, West and Central Africa have been facing extremist terrorism since 2012, which has weakened national institutions and caused population displacement. Added to this instability is an intensification of the effects of climate change, marked by prolonged periods of drought, as well as unpredictable rainy seasons that lead to flooding. According to the United Nations hunger program, more than 52 million people—nearly 12% of the region’s population—are at risk of worsening food insecurity during the lean season (from June to August).

These figures highlight the need to implement sustainable actions to develop the region. In this context, E-Baraka acts as a bridge between governments, public institutions, the private sector, and civil society. In our status, we commit:
1) To promote strategic partnerships for Francophone Africa;
2) To promote sustainable development and transition to a circular economy;
3) To promote support for universities, training centers, schools, and other areas of education;
4) To promote sustainable economic and social projects;
5) To promote sub-Saharan Africa’s access to financing and markets;
6) To promote African culture and innovation.

For 2026, our goals are:
· To develop joint education programs on the circular economy and climate change in African universities;
· To establish research partnerships between academic institutions;
· To create agroecological farms that enable local food production and processing, with a focus on refugees and fragile zones;
· To collaborate in designing and implementing waste management infrastructures;
· To launch Afrocenter in Vienna, a cultural hub where the African diaspora can reconnect and learn about their culture;
We believe development must preserve our planet, reduce inequalities, and uphold human rights. We are convinced that engaging youth in our initiatives will reduce political instability and build lasting peace.
With cooperation at the core of our mission, we recognize that strong partnerships and friendships between states are the foundation for a better society.
